my dog

my dog was such a dog
the like of which as has never been seen before
the biggest blackest dog
the bravest dog
the strongest dog
the truest dog
that was my dog

my dog was as big and black as the midnight sea
shining in the moonlight and rolling with power smooth beneath that silken surface

my dog was as big as any mans dog
his paws as broad as manhole covers
his legs as thick an oak might envy him
his chest a mass of hard iron and nails
that was my dog

my dog would bark the loudest bark
so loud the windows would shake in the house next door
so loud the roof would raise up just a little bit over your head
the wag of his tail so strong that chairs would topple as in a cyclone
and his teeth were so white and straight and pointed
lined up like a picket fence to guard your house
that was my dog

yes i had the biggest strongest loudest dog you would ever want to see
a dog so smart his mind was liquid silver
and his heart was as soft as a daisy petal
that was my dog

and there has never been such a dog seen before nor since
